Small group ministries at Papio Creek Church are integral to its DNA. We are determined to be a church of small groups instead of a church with small groups. We believe in the power of people gathering together to share life, grow in God’s Word and serve together. A church service does not allow enough time to build strong relationships with people. That is why we place such a high value on our small group ministry.
FAQs:
What are lifegroups?
A life group is a community of 6-12 people who meet on a regular basis. Groups come in all shapes and sizes and there are no two alike. A life group is not a collection of perfect people who have life all figured out; instead it is a group who feels comfortable asking questions, learning from and encouraging one another.
What happens in a lifegroup?
Life groups are a major part of fulfilling Papio Creek’s mission of “Transforming Hearts Through Christ.” This happens through:
Prayer: Discover the revolutionizing power of prayer when we pray in God’s presence and with others.
Bible Study: Studying God’s Word together can bring about incredible life transformation when we discover how biblical truths apply to real-life situations.
Fellowship : Taking time to have fun and get to know each other better helps us feel that we are not alone in this life and many times breaks up our mundane weekly schedule.
Service: Serving as a group helps awaken the realization of how blessed we are and of our opportunity to make an impact in our community, neighborhood and our world.
Outreach: We have an open chair philosophy that always strives to be open to who God wants to join the group.
What time commitment is required for being in a lifegroup?
Most groups meet weekly for an hour and a half to two hours and go throughout the year. Some groups take off the summer as well. Most groups meet in the evenings and we presently have some Life Transformation Accountability Groups that meet in the mornings.
