We are glad that you have taken a moment to stop by and visit our website. This is usually the part of the website where we sway you with our powerful mission statement and woo you with our impressive list of doctrinal statements. This is also the part of the website where we are supposed to show you how happy you will be if you attend our church by displaying pictures of our people having a great time.
However, at Papio Creek Church we are more concerned about presenting an authentic picture of who we are, than about creating a portrait of a church that quite frankly doesn’t exist.
We know that people struggle with real issues. We believe that it is the church’s responsibility to help those in need and to do so with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. But, we also believe it’s important to celebrate with those who are victorious in life.
Papio Creek Church is a small church with a population of diverse backgrounds and stories. Oh, and that’s another thing we do, we tell stories; whether in our life groups or around the dinner table with friends – there are plenty of opportunities for fellowship with others.
Come be a part of our growing family! Whether you’ve never been to church before or you are looking for a new place to worship, we would love the opportunity to meet and get to know you better.
Our Purpose
Why we are different
Papio Creek Church is not just an old movie theater in the heart of Papillion, Nebraska; we are a community of people dedicated to serving our Lord and our community. Despite our diversity, one common goal unites us all: to live intentional, authentic lives before God and the world. Our desire is to clear up many of the misconceptions that surround “Christianity” or what it means to be a “Christian” in our world today by living out our real faith in the real world.
What to expect
We have one simple expectation: Come as you are! It’s really this sort of authenticity we strive for in every aspect of our church community. At Papio Creek Church you will find a loving community who will embrace all aspects of who you are, no matter your faults or your circumstances.
We are missional
To be missional is to be outwardly focused on the needs of others. We firmly believe it is by no accident that we exist where we do. Therefore, our desire is to serve our communities spiritual and personal needs. There are various ways we accomplish this. See our community programs section for more details.
Who attends
One unique feature of our church body is its diversity. Our people come from various walks of life and have diverse personal histories. We welcome all people no matter your background. Allow us the opportunity to both grow and serve with you.
A church is only effective in accomplishing its mission when its intentional. We view the proper mode of discipleship is through the criteria of discover, grow, serve. We strive to be a place that is more than a Sunday morning event, but rather a day by day journey. This is why we take a holistic approach to discipleship, which we believe to be more than just acquiring knowledge about the Bible. Instead, true discipleship involves the entire being of a christian, from the moment they enter into Christ until they leave this earth.
